Time to say Goodbye
This one, Ladies and Gentlemen, I will write in English so that my travel mate Angela will be able to read what I write about her. Today has been a day of sad farewells since I had to say Goodbye to 2 highlights of the trip so far – Angela & Little Corn Island. Very hard day! So I am writing this blog entry in Masaya, Nicaragua actually wishing I would be on Little Corn, with a Flor de Cana in my hand and Angela next to me. I got very used to having her around me in the last 4 weeks or even more……. we had a great time and hope to see each other again in Peru. Just so that you can understand how I feel, here are 10 reasons to see Angela again and 10 reasons to come back to Little Corn.
10 reasons to see Angela again
1) Probably the funniest person I have met so far
2) She will always find the best coffee in a new place
3) She will always find the best wine in a new place
4) She will always find the best food in a new place
5) OK, 2-4 are hard to beat! What more can you ask for? Maybe the fact that she buys you a drink and you get more than you expected;-)
6) She is the same crazy about electric tooth brushes as I am.
7) She and I are learning a lot together, mainly to stop planning!
8) She saved my life several times with banana bread
9) I miss her already although it is only a couple of hours
10) She is a great persond and in a very short time became a true friend so I will have to see her again, for sure!
PS: Thanks, chica for everything. Me gusta! Bah!
10 reasons for another visit to Little Corn Island
1) Aller guten Dinge sind drei. I have been there twice, that means I have to go again.
2) The best dive shop I know and the best diving ever.
3) The hammocks
4) The beach
5) The sunsets
6) The people
7) The food – new favourite meal: Surf & Turf, that is Lobster & Steak in Garlic Butter
8) I haven’t been on an island that is more remote than LCI and I love it
9) It is the only place I know that is beautifull even if it rains
10) All 9 above
As you can see, we had a great time on Little Corn Island. Mama and Janna joined us one week ago and after one night in Managua, we hopped on a plane & boat to make our way to the Corn Islands to start our week in heaven. Mama was so impressed that she started thinking about how to make business there, Angela wouldn`t leave the beach for a week and Janna got very interested in flyfishing. Together we decided that the best idea would be to open a school for crabs as there are plenty of them. We just don’t know how to make money with it? Do you think people would donate money for a crab school?
For me, it was like coming home, since I have been to LCI 14 months ago when I visited friends on their trip around the world. Some of the people we have met at that time are still there and we stayed in the same accommodation. A few things have changed, they now have a second bar on the island, funny enough both bars are both closed on the same day. Prices have increased, lobster is now 10 $ .
This is where I learned diving, so I was very much looking forward to dive there again and did go diving almost everyday. Diving on LCI is famous for seeing sharks and I did see a lot of them. Unfortunately I as well accidently got very close to a fire coralle, auahhhhhh! Not nice, but now I have a memory of LCI on my right leg. If not diving, I spent my time in a hammock reading. You wouldn’t believe how busy our days were……
Well, all good things come to an end and this morning we got up before the sun to leave the island. Mama, Janna and I are heading to Granada tomorrow and to Ometepe the day after tomorrow, whilest Angela started a surfcamp in Leon today.
What a change, from a peacefull, quiet Carribbean island without cars to an average Nicaraguan city with a lot of noise, pollution and everybody wants to sell something. But interesting as well of course and knowing that we will be on an island in not more than a few days again, is a good perpective.
I am a happy girl with new and great memories!

Wo ist hier eigentlich der „gefällt mir“-Button? (Nur für deine Berichte, natürlich nicht für den Verlust von Angela!)
